Project Overview

This research project explores the development of a user-centered on-demand home service application for Lucena City residents. The study focuses on applying User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology to create a platform that connects service seekers with local providers while incorporating blockchain technology for enhanced security and transparency. The research emphasizes understanding user needs through surveys, interviews, and usability testing to create an optimal user experience.

Research Paper

"Helpr: A User-Centered Design Approach for a Secure On-Demand Home Service App Using Blockchain Technology"

Abstract

The on-demand home service app build with a user-centered design (UCD) approach using blockchain technology is beneficial for everyone by providing a variety of services like plumbing, cleaning, electrical, carpentry, and more. In today's fast-paced era, people seek for time saving and less hassle solutions, especially when relocating to a new place where you do not know anyone yet. Online on-demand home service app provides a solution to these problems. This application aims to create a user-friendly and secure platform. The user-friendliness of an application ensures that the users can easily navigate through the application and find relevant information without confusion. There will be two users for this application: the service seekers and the service providers. Blockchain will be used in this application to enhance data security and guarantee transaction transparency; to develop trust within the service industry. This research is expected to demonstrate that UCD approach, alongside with blockchain technology, leads to a user-friendly, secured, and an efficient on-demand home service application. To ensure that the application meets the demands of the users, the UCD approach prioritizes user needs and feedback. This includes surveys, in-depth interviews, and usability testing from the users to gather user feedback and continuously refine the application for optimal user experience. It is expected that this application will improve user's convenience, trust, and satisfaction. This research puts an emphasis on the importance of user feedback in the design process and highlighting blockchain to enhance security and transparency.
